😀Happy Friday people! Check out our latest find here!
🔍While conducting testing within a control panel for a large industrial 63 AMP Three Phase Oven, this cable was found not terminated correctly into the terminal and therefore over time, caused heat build-up and potential arcing within the terminal, which had led to the thermal damage.
The Yellow/L2 phase supply conductor was originally behind a clear Perspex protective casing, going into the supply side of the main rotary isolator. Therefore, the casing hid most of the damage, showing only slight charring on the cable.
🤦🏻♂️Initially, the terminal of the isolator appeared tight, and test results did not identify any issues…
However, upon closer inspection after removing the Perspex cover, we found that the cable was not correctly terminated into the terminal. Over time, this improper termination caused heat build-up and potential arcing within the terminal, leading to thermal damage and a C1 observation.
🗣️The client was immediately made aware, and the issue was rectified, tested, and checked again, leaving it in a satisfactory condition, with a happy client!
