📖For those who may or may not be aware, Thursday 15th of October was the date that BS 7671 Amendment 4 officially became the only current edition, meaning Amendment 3 (and any other earlier versions) have now been formally withdrawn.
🤔What are some of the main changes?
✅A new chapter covering stationary secondary batteries used to store electrical energy and supply electrical installations.
✅A new section addressing functional earthing and functional equipotential bonding for information and communication technology (ICT) equipment and systems.
✅A new section covering Power over Ethernet (PoE).
✅A substantial revision to Section 710, Medical Locations, including a schedule for recording test results for the resistance of supplementary protective equipotential bonding conductors.
This important revision to the IET Wiring Regulations will serve as the UK national standard for:
⚡New low-voltage electrical installations
🔧Additions or alterations to existing installations
🕵️Periodic inspection and testing of existing installations.
