🙌🏻This weeks’ edition has been brought to you by Guardians fixed inspectors duo Leon Lennon & Sam Bray who recently came across this water-soaked distribution board whilst carrying out an inspection & test on site.
😓Unfortunately, this type of find is nothing out of the ordinary for our inspectors and they are found all too often.
📜This DB is non-compliant to Reg 522.3.1 – ‘A wiring system shall be selected and erected so that no damage is caused by condensation or ingress of water during installation, use and maintenance’.
⚠️The dangers of hazardous finds like this can include cause electric shock risks as a result of the moisture inside the DB which can energize metal surfaces or enclosures, creating a serious shock hazard to persons nearby!
🔥In addition to this, fire hazards & short circuits are also a very likely & dangerous possibility.
