👏🏻This weeks’ edition is brought to you by Guardians duo of Steve Coward & Sam Childes who discovered this very unhealthy-looking distribution board & control panel during a recent site inspection.
👎🏻As can be seen below, this week’s find has multiple red flags!
Firstly, the missing covers! This therefore allowing access for the ‘Presence of solid foreign bodies’ (Regulation 522.4) as well as welcoming the accumulation of dust and other substances which could adversely affect heat dissipation from the wiring system (Regulation 522.4.2).
⚠️Secondly, there is also clear evidence of rust & corrosion which potentially could lead to fires, equipment failures & increased resistance.
🕵🏻Finally, the poor cable management is clear to see. Regulation 521.10.1 states that ‘non-sheathed cables for fixed wiring shall be enclosed’
