⏰It’s that time of the week already… it’s Fridays Find!
?Take a look at this weeks’ fiery find that was recently found whilst out on-site conducting a fixed wire inspection and test. The below photo was taken by Guardian inspector, Steve Phillips, after undertaking a thermographic survey on site which further revealed this very hot cable gland which was sat at 207°C.
?Thanks to the thorough inspection by Steve, it was found that a CT coil which was energised, but not in use, was resting against it and therefore was acting as a heating element due to electromagnetic forces.
?Regulation 5 of HSE The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 states that; “No electrical equipment shall be put into use where its strength and capability may be exceeded in such a way as may give rise to danger”.
