🧐Take a look at one of our latest discoveries from a recent site visit. During the inspection, our team came across this severely corroded Distribution Board.
Upon further investigation, it became clear that not only the DB itself, but also the surrounding area, had been heavily affected by rust and corrosion. Why you ask? This particular site is located alongside an estuary, leaving the equipment highly exposed to moisture and salt in the air — the perfect conditions for an accelerated corrosion.
📜Furthermore, due to the damage and corrosion of this board, this welcomes the potential of water, dust, or other material ingress. Therefore, to be compliant with Regulation 522.4.2, this board would need ‘additional precautions’ to ‘prevent the accumulation of dust or other substances in quantities which could adversely affect heat dissipation from the wiring system’.
