📸This weeks’ find has been brought to you by Guardians very own Jamie Dodds who discovered the following pictures whilst recently conducting an EVSE test at a client’s site.
🔥If you look closely, you can see the burnt-out conductor within this EV charger! This would’ve been caused due to an overload or a loose connection.
âś…Luckily for this client, the hazard was identified before any further use of the charger & therefore preventing any devastating consequences from occurring such as fire hazards, electrical shocks, system failures & any serious damage to both the vehicle and the sites surroundings.
📜Regulation 433.1.1 – Circuits should be designed so that a small overload of a long duration is unlikely to occur.
📜Regulation 526.1 – Every electrical connection between conductors and other equipment shall provide durable electrical continuity
